How well is your website working for you? Can potential customers find you online? And most importantly, does it present a true picture of your company?
We enjoy the challenge of working with our clients to help communicate their message on the web. The website should be a natural extension of a brand’s identity. We often find that our greatest successes are achieved when we are called upon to create an entire brand statement: Designing a Corporate Logo, Stationery, Signage and Website. As a unified system, these elements work to tell a cohesive and vivid story. They all speak with a single voice.
Mayo Studios was asked to work with Art Historians, Dr. Beth Harris & Dr. Steven Zucker, to craft a content rich site to support their vision for an online teaching resource. We began by designing a logo. Then it was our mission to create a look & feel that made Smarthistory a flexible platform. Working with Information Architect, Lotte Meijer, we ensured that the site would offer a variety of points-of-entry to allow users to explore the vast collection in many ways. We had to make it engaging and friendly. And of course – the visit had to be fun!
Today, smarthistory.org is a dynamic alternative – or even substitute – for the traditional Art History textbook. Visitors to the site are privileged to eavesdrop on a conversation between the Professors as they offer insights to the significance, styles, and hidden secrets of the world of art. Visitors can listen to audio of these conversations, often recorded in the museum while standing directly in front of the artwork.
